熟悉关系代词考点
高考英语对引导定语从句的关系代词的考查呈现以下规律：
考查关系代词which引导非限制性定语从句（非常重要，属高频考点）；
考查who和whom引导定语从句的区别（一般性考点）；
考查关系代词whose与which作定语时的区别（一般性考点）；
考查其他关系代词的用法（一般性考点）。
弄清干扰项的设置规律
命题者在命制关系代词考点通常会设置以下几类干扰项（不一定全部有，但原则上不会少于其中的两类）：
用非关系代词what, them, it, those等作干扰；
用关系代词that来干扰引导非限制性定语从句的which；
用关系副词来干扰关系代词（注意关系副词只用作状语，不能用作主语或宾语）；
用who与which互相干扰（注意识别先行词是指人还是指物）；
用who与whom互相干扰（注意识别关系代词在定语从句中是作主语还是宾语）；
用which与whose互相干扰（两者均可用作定语，区别是：关系代词whose与物主代词意思相近，which与指示代词用法相近）。

英语中含有more和less的用法非常复杂，由此构成的短语也比较丰富，但一个有趣的现象是，许多同学对more的用法见得比较多，对含有more的短语也比较熟悉，而对less的用法则相对比较生疏，至于含有less的短语，则见得更少。本文根据目前各版本的高中英语教材以及近年来的高考考点情况，对含有less的重要短语作一归纳。
less and less
与more and more的意思相反，表示“越来越小”“越来越少”。如：
I find I’m eating less and less meat. 我发现我肉吃得越来越少了。
Holiday flights are getting less and less expensive. 假日机票越来越便宜了。
As time went by we saw less and less of each other. 随着时间的流逝，我们见面越来越少了。
less than
与more than意思相反，主要用法有：
用于两者比较，意为“比……少(小)”。如：
I worry less than I used to. 我现在不像过去那么担心了。
The actual cost of the repairs was a lot less than we had expected. 实际的修理费用比我们预料的少得多。
指数量上“少于”“不足”。如：
The bullet missed his heart by less than an inch. 子弹射中的地方离他的心脏还不到一英寸。
Food prices increased by 10% in less than a year. 在不到一年的时间里，食品价格增长了10%。
表示轻微的否定，意为“不很”“并不是太”（主要见于美国英语中）。如：
The job was less than perfect. 这工作不十分理想。
The boys were less than happy about having a party. 开晚会男孩子们并不很高兴。
